Systems Therapy Rooted in Narrative & Neuroscience

Support for Therapists

Career Opportunities, Supervision

If you’re a therapist looking for a space to deepen your work and think more intentionally about how you practice, you’re in the right place.

At Cultivating Capacity, I offer clinical supervision and professional consultation for therapists, along with opportunities to connect as this practice continues to evolve. Some clinicians come here while they are in training and working toward licensure, while others are already licensed

and looking for a space to think more deeply about their cases, their relationships with clients, and the systems shaping their work.

This is not a place where you are expected to follow a script or fit yourself into a predetermined model. It is a space where we look at your work together, in context, and develop a cultivated clinical praxis that reflects how you actually think, relate, and practice.

Approach

Supervision That Centers Context,
Relationships, and Your Lived Experience

Supervision and consultation, for me, are not just about reviewing cases or meeting requirements. They are relational processes. I approach this work collaboratively. We think together, rather than working from a position where one person is expected to have the answers. You bring your perspective, instincts, and lived experience into the room,
and we build from there.

My work draws from systems theory, deliberate supervision principles, and a deep reverence for the lived experiences that call so many clinicians to this profession. That means we pay attention to relationships, patterns, and context rather than isolating problems inside individuals or “identified patients.” We look at what is happening within the therapeutic relationship, the systems surrounding your clients, and the ways your own reflections and responses are part of the work. In this way, supervision and consultation parallel the therapeutic experience and what Irvin Yalom refers to as “fellow travelers.”

Most importantly, I place strong emphasis on transparency and continuous informed consent. We talk openly about what we are doing, why we are doing it, and whether it is serving your clients well. My goal is to create a space where you can deepen your capacity as a clinician, stay connected to yourself, and develop a way of working that feels grounded and sustainable over time while empowering clients to enrich their own agency and relationships.

Supervision

Clinical Supervision
for Pre-Licensed MFTs

This is a space for MFT associates, interns, and residents working toward licensure to develop your clinical thinking, build confidence in your decision-making, and learn how to work in a way that feels both ethical and sustainable over time. Supervision is not limited to reviewing cases. It includes how you understand your clients, how you relate to them, and how you make sense of what is happening in the room.

Our work together may include how you are conceptualizing your cases, what you are noticing in the therapeutic relationship, where you feel stuck or pulled in different directions, and how your own responses are part of the work. You will also be encouraged through deliberative supervision principles to solicit feedback from clients in ways that emphasize their expertise in the room as much as your own.

Supervision is available for clinicians in training in California, Washington, or Virginia and may be offered in individual or group formats depending on fit and availability.

INDIVIDUAL SUPERVISION: $150 per session
GROUP SUPERVISION:  $250 per session
(may be split among attendees)

Consultation

Consultation for Licensed Clinicians

I offer professional consultation for licensed clinicians who want a space to think more deeply about their work with victims and survivors of interpersonal and sexual violence.

Consultation can be helpful when you are working with complex cases, navigating ethical questions, wanting to expand how you understand the systems your clients are part of, or understanding how violence continues to shape clients’ lives long after it’s over. Professional consultation can be a place to step back and reflect when something feels unclear or stuck, and I offer support in helping clinicians promote client agency and dignity.

This is a collaborative space and opportunity to think through the work with another clinician who will ask questions, offer perspective, and help you see what may not be immediately visible.

INVESTMENT: Consultations billed in 15-minute increments.
FULL CONSULTATION:  $200 per hour
for longer discussions.

Careers

Opportunities to Work Together

This is a space for clinicians who want to hold presence, play, and praxis in their work. It is grounded in relational, trauma-informed care and blends the science of evidence-based practice with the art of psychotherapy.

The work here is collaborative and thoughtful. Your ideas are not just welcomed, they’re invited. There is space to explore, test, and expand how therapy can look and feel, especially beyond more rigid or traditional models.

If you’re a student-in-training, pre-licensed, or licensed clinician interested in working together, you’re welcome to apply. This can be a starting point for a conversation as opportunities take shape, even if no current opening is advertised.

This work might resonate deeply if you’re:

  • You feel at home blending structure and creativity in your clinical work
  • You are drawn to embodied, relational, and expressive approaches
  • You value collaboration and drama-free, thoughtful teamwork
  • You are interested in expanding therapy beyond rigid models
  • You want to continue developing your voice and approach over time
